Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 7/29/18 – https://wp.me/p1pQyF-NJ

The prompt for this week was STEET. The song that immediately sprang to mind was Wonderwall. It has the lins that refers to streets i.e roads.

And all the roads we have to walk are winding.

And all the lights that lead us there are blinding.
It allows me to reminisce about seeing Noel a week yesterday at the bottom of my street. I saw him sing Wonderwall which I never tnought, I would again because, he stopped singing it for a while because he wrote it for his ex wife Meg Mathews.

My blog is of course named after this song. To demonstrate how good the lyrics are this video is a cover by Mike Flowers where he made the song sound old. Upon hearing the Flowers version Mathews was mad because she thought it was the original when Noel had said he wrote it for her. Of course the lyrics really are Noel’s.

Flowers

Today is gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to you

By now you should’ve, somehow, realized what you gotta do
I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out
I’m sure you’ve heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don’t know how
Because maybe
You’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You’re my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they’ll never throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you’re not to do
I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
I said maybe
You’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You’re my wonderwall
