At midnight the council announced redevelopment plans for Sheffield. The aim is to keep the farcades of some of the derilict building but refurbish then. For example, there is the Old Salvation Army building that has weeds growing out of it,
The other part to be redeveloped are the buildings around the corner from the Salvation Army; across from the peace gardens.
The opposite side of the peace gardens has already been redeveloped; with the glass winter gardens, St Paul’s hotel etc… It would be nice to see a little modernisation whilst preserving some of the history.
The plans for the redevelopment are going to be on display in the Winter gardens on 15th and 16th March.
The redevelopment is being called Heart of the City II as previous Heart of the City was the redevelopment from train station up to the winter gardens.
