  1. My grandmother suffers from dementia (it’s still so hard to say this small sentence), I don’t know if you’ve read about it on the blog. Most of her brain cells are dead. We don’t have a definitive answer as to why, but I think it is a consequence of lifelong clinical depression and bipolar disorder that was never treated. She’s only 70 and she can no longer wipe after using the bathroom, most times. It’s just so sad. I remember when it all started, about 4-5 years ago and I think I witnessed the exact moment when she was first confused. We were at the table and talking about milk, for some reason. She said “I’ve never drunk cow’s milk”. We all stopped and were like “what? What do you mean? You drink milk every day” she paused for a moment and said “well, you can drink goat’s milk”, as if she were trying to pretend she wasn’t confused at all. It’s just so sad to see someone waste away, you know? Thank you for bringing awareness to this 😊

    1. I have seen you mention it. Know it affects lots of people so I wanted to know more; thank you for sharing. Symptoms can be similar to that of depression; got more posts coming up about symptoms and how they are treated.
