Challenging the world we live in
2018 marks 100 year’s since women in Britain first got the vote. On Saturday 10th March 2-3pm at Western Park there will be a talk entitled Campaigning for votes for women in Sheffield. From 6th Feb to 1st July there will be an exhibition celebrating how the people of Sheffield have stood up for what they believe in over the last 200years.
On Tue 23rd Feb 7.30-10.30pm there will be a talk called The art of protest.
There will be an art exhibition at Millenuim Gallery 17Feb – 10 June called Hope is strong which explores the power of art to question the world we live in. Including a chronicle of confrontations between police and striking miners. There is a talk linked to Hope is strong exhibition on 23rd Mar 7.30pm- 10.30pm at Millenuim Gallery.
On Mon 5th Mar at Millenuim Gallery there is a talk Why bother? What is art for?
On Sat 17Mar 10.30-4.30 there is a workshop called Protest art with Paul Evans.

February LGBT + 🏳️🌈 month
Monday 19 Feb 1-1.45pm Edward Carpenter: His passion and poltics.
Sunday 25 February 6pm screening of film Pride. I have previously seen and enjoyed this film. It is about how LGBT 🏳️🌈 groups lent there support to Welsh miners who returned the favour and marched during Pride. Good characters, well acted, humorous and based on a true story.
